Architectural Representation, Columbia University, 2012, Nicole Robertson. We first explored a an obsolete object and it's implications, and then using those studies as a bases for an e-waste recycling center in Rockefeller Center. The object explored was the Technic-1200 turntable. We were expected to use the laser cutter as part of our modelling process.
In contrasting the intended and unintended uses of an object, it alludes to themes of the reinventing of objects and of loops as a technique to extend usefulness.
Studies in how to materialize DJ looping in an architectural representation. These models were built in Rhino, and then traced with Adobe Illustrator and also imported into AutoCAD for laser cutting.
A loop or a cut can have spacial properties. Fabricated with the laser cutter.
Preliminary measurements of the restrictions of the space.
